Perfect Balance

Creams of chocolate macaroons and caramel
are flooding my thoughts and sticking together
to form giant globs of rich, warm sweetness
in hues of freshly roasted coffee.

Suddenly a strawberry pushes it's way
past those glossy, creamy textures,
sparkling in burgundy and fire-hydrant red,
with golden jewels to decorate it's flesh.

Colliding to create the perfect balance
of tartness and sweetness,
of freshness and richness,
of you and me.
